You Better Network!
Job hunting in tough economical times is difficult, but not impossible. Now is the time to put your social and professional networking skills to use. If you use your networking skills properly, you will find out about multiple job opportunities, many times before they are even advertised, if they ever get advertised at all. If you're not sure about how to begin building your network, Work + Wealth can help! Contact us to see how.
Get Focused!
Your resume speaks volumes about who you are and what you have to offer. What does your resume say about you? Whether you have a work history that details the variety of positions you’ve held or if you’re experienced in a particular field, be sure your resume is focused--tailored to match the jobs for which you are applying. Be sure to highlight your relevant experience FIRST and then move on to other work experience. Remember, recruiters get hundreds, sometimes thousands of resumes and spend less than 60 seconds checking out your resume. If the relevant stuff’s not at the top, it gets tossed. Don’t forget to spell check your resume and check for grammatical errors.
Take A Break!
Job searching can wear you out! Don’t get burned out by spending hours everyday searching and applying for jobs. Taking a break a day or two between job searching efforts will allow you to stay focused and not sell yourself short by applying for any and everything you can find.
